Swanbourne Primary School
The new Primary School is adjacent to the former High School in the heart of Swanbourne. This development required two years of planning due to the considerable local and indigenous interest.
Rapley Wilkinson was required to ensure all parties were consulted, resulting in all excavations being overseen by Archaeologist and Aboriginal Elders along with the local community being kept continually informed of the ongoing construction activity.
Other challenges include substantial civil works and earthworks, deep underground boring of services, the construction of extensive retaining walls and structures including stone pitching and major landscaping and reticulation works.
The project comprises several buildings providing administration, teaching blocks, pre-primary rooms, library, covered assembly, canteen and considerable external facilities including cricket and football oval, tennis, basketball and netball courts and practice nets.
